Employee Physical & Emotional Wellness
ACIC provides a wellness program in which employees can earn points each month for working out, performing community service, or participating in fundraising. Points can be used for additional Paid Time Off or cash rewards. We have a quarterly Hall of Fame winner for those who give back to the community, are on the forefront of innovations, or engaged in physical activities. Recent winners have accomplished great feats both personally and professional from finishing Ironman Triathlons to completing their CPCU designation. Winners receive a $2,000 bonus. ACIC supports employees personal and emotional wellness by offering an Employee Assistance Program, Flex Time, Paid Parental Leave, and access to our Corporate Chaplain, who for over 15 years, has provided personal and family support. By using Flex Time, employees are not required to take PTO for things like doctor’s appointments, family emergencies, etc.
Employee Engagement
ACIC encouraged employee participation in pre-shutdown events such as “Halloween dress- up, Ugly Sweater contest, Soup-Er Bowl Friday, chili cook-off, and Valentine’s Gift Basket give-away” to name a few.
During shutdown, we have kept the participation going with Virtual monthly events such as “Trivia, Escape Room, Murder Mystery, Bingo, and Family Feud”. We are also happy to say we were able to continue a few of the traditional events like Halloween dress-up, Ugly Sweater contest and an occasional talent show.
Employee Development
We pay and encourage personal development through our Tuition Reimbursement Program, paid materials and exams through the Insurance Institute and Scrum Alliance toward certifications, and access to a vast library of training materials through Cornerstone Learning Management System and Franklin Covey.
Employees are encouraged to get certified or to take courses for professional or personal growth. Just a few of the available courses are in areas such as Leadership development, Health & Wellness, Creative Pursuits, Personal Development, as well as technical training such as Excel, Word, Sql and many more.
We also offer a monthly “Passport to Success” that highlights an area or department of the company for employees to learn more about what they do.
Community and Employee Support
Here at Atlantic Casualty, we support our employees in-need, as well as local and national charities. In 2020 we raised over $27,000, with a company match of almost $50,000.
We have monthly fundraisers for ACIC employees in-need for a variety of circumstances or national charities such as Salvation Army Angels, Relay for Life, United Way, and Equal Justice Initiative.
Atlantic frequently raises money for food banks and various causes nation-wide such as the Food bank in Richmond, VA, Scottsdale, AZ, and Houston, TX after the ice storm in February 2021 as part of the Feeding America Network.
In Wayne County, we support our local Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Wayne Chapter. We have had as many as ten graduates and various employees who go on to serve as Regents for the program.
Our Scottsdale office annually hosts “Operation Easter Bunny” where the company raises funds for children in hospitals, homeless shelters, and group homes in the Scottsdale area.
Family Centered
Family is highly valued at ACIC. Whether it’s the flexibility to care for sick children, promoting self-care, school fundraising, employees can feel confident that they will never be asked to choose between family and career.
