Who Is Atlantic Casualty?

Atlantic Casualty Insurance Company (Atlantic Casualty) was established by Strickland Insurance Group (SIG) in 1983 to underwrite a significant portfolio of non-standard personal auto insurance. By the late 1990s, this portfolio had grown to over $100 million in premiums across seven states. In 1998, the company shifted its focus to commercial products. Today, Atlantic Casualty offers a range of products, including Commercial General Liability, Commercial Property, Garage, Inland Marine, and Ocean Marine. These products are distributed exclusively through Managing General Agencies.

In January 2016, Atlantic Casualty and SIG were acquired by Auto-Owners Insurance Group, a company with over 100 years of experience and a spot on the Fortune 500 list for more than 13 years. The group writes over $10 billion in premium annually and holds an A.M. Best rating of A++ (Superior).

Atlantic Casualty operates from offices in Goldsboro, NC; Hartford, CT; Scottsdale, AZ; and Richmond, VA, enabling it to effectively serve its agency network. The company is authorized to operate in all fifty states, including Washington, DC. Through consistent hard work and strong performance over the past 40 years, Atlantic Casualty has earned an A+ (Superior) IX (financial size) rating from A.M. Best.
